As soon as that first true spring day hits – the day when I’m awoken by the sound of birds and bright sunlight streaming through my curtains – I start getting really excited about sunglasses. I’ve always felt that sunglasses have the ability to elevate any outfit for a cooler, more pulled-together look. To get the most out of your sunnies, it helps to realize that certain sunglasses are more flattering on certain people. It all depends on the size and shape of the frames in comparison to the size and shape of your face. As with most things in life, it’s all about creating that perfect balance.
If you have a round face, your best bet is to go for angular sunglasses. A great option for round faces is the Kaline Sunglasses. I love the yellowish color for bright, warm days!
On the other hand, round sunglasses help to soften the features of a square-shaped face! (Although at Free People we’re all loving round sunglasses this season – square faces or not!) Some of our favorites are the Maddie Sunglasses and the Goodnight Moon Sunglasses.
Sunglasses with rounded edges are an awesome choice for those with heart-shaped faces, as this frame shape helps to draw the focus downward on the face. We love aviator styles like the Chris Sunglasses.
If you have an oval face, you are one lucky soul – all sunglasses are flattering on you! Be daring and try a cool shape like the Gatsby Sunglasses.
