Show me what I could be… not what I already am.
Show me where I could go, not where I’ve danced before.
The New Year light warms my skin with cleansed beginnings; with hope to be better, do better… stop at nothing to become what I have yet to stand tall against. Once again, we are given a chance, one more year, to nourish ourselves and all those around us with a higher love. The year mark… (be it the end of year, or a start of a new)… it provides for you a moment, a long lasting breath in time to reset. Reflective nature runs instinctively deep now, and we must use it, for it comes for reasons, both known and unknown. Take a walk with your reflections on the first of the New Year. Listen to the songs that guide you, but…. know that you hold the pen and paper to add your own lines, rearrange your choruses, and build your bridges wider and deeper.
All the little things. Details that make your whole self sing with truth and purpose. Welcome it with a jump in the sea, a dance full of free on washed clean sands… bid it not farewell, but hold it close as a dear friend.
Shot by the beautiful (and dear friend) Rus Anson. Rus is a master of fairytales, creating in all of her images a story of far escape grounded in tangible reality. Dreams exist to keep us inspired in ourselves and the world around us. She captures this dream with the light of the ocean that can’t be replicated, duplicated, or defined… and the soft whimsical palette of sweeping dresses and intricate details that danced along this California coastline.
