We share a bond with certain human beings that is strong, yet delicate.
They’re the people who see us at our best, but also the ones who pick us up at our worst, with no judgement. They are the people who understand, and the ones you can count on. Loyal, true, forgiving, inspiring — the very definition of friendship.
True friendship is something to cherish, and whenever it comes around, it’s best to keep it safe. Friends forever, or maybe just for a little bit, each one comes into our life for a certain purpose. They can teach us things about ourselves that we may have been blind to in the past, and the right ones encourage us to be better versions of the person we see in the mirror.
We were lucky enough to capture two best friends, Jane and Katrina, as they laughed over fun memories and enjoyed a night of reminiscing in the glow of the holiday spirit. Get to know these downtown New York girls as each one shares just what makes their friendship so special.
Jane on Katrina:
What can I say, Katrina is made out of pure sunshine! An ordinary connection made by a mutual friend seven years ago in California sparked into one of the sweetest friendships I’ve ever known. Since moving to New York City, she has become much more than just a friend to me. Katrina is my support, my cheerleader, and my confidante. She’s my workout partner, yogi sister and dinner date. She is my understanding therapist and travel buddy. Not to mention my personal stylist! Katrina is my energy boost and the bright spot in my day. I could go on! I can always count on her to be radiating positive energy and lighting up rooms with her beaming smile. She is my constant inspiration to work hard and be happy. She reminds me to enjoy life to the fullest! We have been laughing and smiling through life together, from LA to Italy to NYC, and I am extremely grateful to call Katrina my best friend.

Katrina on Jane:
When asked who inspires me, I immediately think of my friend, Jane. We share a passion for New York City, food, fitness and friendship. We met in college while attending Loyola Marymount University in Los Angles, and since moving to the Big Apple, our friendship has only grown stronger. I am truly lucky to have Jane just a stop away on the L Train! When I first moved to New York, finding comfort in a city bursting at its seams with energy was a challenge. However, Jane helped me grow my roots and find ease in a city that never rests. Jane and I find time to keep close despite how quickly New York moves. We make time to work up a sweat, take a spin class together, to run through Central Park, or to reset our minds with yoga. We love hitting up our favorite local spots like MUD and Supper to catch up and share laughs while we chow down. I’m so lucky to call Jane my friend. We fine tune our mind, body and bellies together!
