A new festival is just around the corner. Take a listen to those who we’re most excited to see…
Here in Austin, we’re pretty spoiled music-wise. Not only do we showcase amazing shows on a nightly basis, but we also have the most (and in my opinion, the best) music festivals. The season kicks off in March with SXSW, and ends this weekend with Fun Fun Fun Fest. It may sound strange to host a festival in November but, really, it’s the perfect time of year – finally cool enough to pull on some boots and throw on a jacket (at night, at least), making those long festival days actually comfortable.
This will be my first time attending Fun Fun Fun Fest, but the festival is celebrating its tenth year in existence, and it has certainly come a long way since its inception. What’s cool about this festival is that it’s run by people who know Austin and its music scene like the back of their hands and, as a result, the lineup is a reflection of the city itself – a weird, colorful mix of genres so eclectic, everyone can find something to love.
Described as one of the most creative and pioneering festivals in music today, Fun Fun Fun Fest has managed to grow while staying true to its roots. For more insight into the fest, check out this article which highlights the organizers’ nostalgia over the past ten years of fun, fun, fun.
Listen to our playlist of bands in attendance this year – and if you’re going, let us know who you’re excited to see!
