This post comes to us from our engagement intern, Katerina!
This spring while shopping for new additions to my wardrobe, I had one thing on my mind: Vegan leather. Vegan leather is a great alternative for girls like me who love quality and “leather”-like goods, but choose to forgo traditional, real leather for various reasons, whether they be social, political, environmental, or some combination of all three. Luckily, I was able to find a wide variety of vegan leather goods right here at Free People that fit my spring outfits perfectly:
Get the look: Vegan Wynn Sandal, We The Free Luxe Cowl Thermal, Ripped White Crop Flare
The sport-inspired Wynn sandal is for anyone interested in comfort. These sandals were made for warmer days spent adventuring, traipsing around the city, or lounging in your backyard with a book and a hammock. Made completely out of vegan leather, these sandals are versatile and add the perfect “Lou” element to any outfit.
Get the look: Matador Hat, Decca Chambray Jumpsuit, Strappy Back Bra
The Matador hat, a Free People classic that comes with a vegan leather band, is an effortless addition to any outfit. This hat is perfect for those free-spirited, modern “Meadow” girls out there! Throw this on to shield your eyes from the sun while you browse the farmers’ market or look for treasures at a weekend flea market.
Get the look: Pieced Vegan Skinny, Short Sleeve Linen Crop Buttondown
If you’re the type of girl who loves details, the Vegan Skinnies are for you. Super soft, comfortable, and slightly distressed, these skinnies will go perfectly with your favorite white tee! These pants are perfect for the Simply FP girl spending a spring day under the sunshine.
+ How are you incorporating vegan goods or earth-conscious products into your wardrobe this spring?

Hi there! I was just curious as to what your vegan leather is made out of? On your website most products say 100% vegan leather but I’m just curious on specifics. I did notice that your vegan leather skinnies are 100% Polyurethane, which is not an environmentally friendly material. However, there are great plant-based alternatives for vegan leather products! I love all of these looks, and it’s great to see FP wanting to help the Earth, I’m just curious for more information.
The Matador hat is made of wool, so having a vegan belt on it doesn’t make any difference, for a vegan person.
I think emphasizing vegan makeup and skin care is very important too. I can’t imagine supporting makeup brands that test on animals.
