These crazy photoshopped pictures by Katya Ford are really appealing! I especially love the clothes that are replaced by scenes from outer space – boy I would love to have something real like that!

Check out the new Chanel No. 5 video – it’s amazing! Plus, it features Audrey Tautou, who I like very much. Yay!

So awesome, reminds me of Darjeeling Limited. I wish I could go on a long train ride like this... ~F

Hanna Müller

img111_31370817.jpg
These beautiful drawings are by Hanna Müller, who has a really cute story on her blog about how she started drawing: When I grew up I did some serious attempts to write my feelings in a diary, it started off good until my brother ferret out where it was hidden. It didn’t matter how much I tried to hide it, he always found it and spread my most private thoughts to everyone who cared to listen. So I stopped writing my feelings down and started drawing what I felt instead. My pictures became my diary and still are. It feels nice to draw them away. So sweet…

You may remember a while back when we talked about all the cool sequined and embellished tights that hit the runway during fashion week… Well, Park & Cube has a really handy tutorial showing how she embellished the fabulous tights shown above! It has awesome pictures and some handy tips for those of us who feel the urge to DIY some cool tights for ourselves! Check it out here.

These photographs by Elena Kalis are so beautiful! The dress looks so delicate and light in the water! The colors are gorgeous too. Be sure to check out Elena’s website – her other work is equally dreamy.

Recently, one of our Facebook friends wrote in and asked if we had some photos of the Free People line from back in the 1980′s! Luckily for her, and for all of us, our Assistant Art Director Carrie was kind enough to put together this little video! It features items from the very beginning, when Urban Outfitters was just starting back in the 70′s and had one little shop in West Philadelphia, called The Free People’s Store. Then it moves on through the 1980′s to our inception as a separate brand, and evolves on to now! It’s really fun to see our development over time and look at all the vintage Free People styles! Enjoy!

This was really neat to see! The transformations through the decades is hysterical! It's also very nice to see a much broader representation of girls as well as women of color being used as models as time progressed~ oxox

footprints

These amazing footprints worn into the wood are real! Buddhist monk Hua Chi has been praying in the same spot each day (many, many times a day) for over 20 years at his temple in Tongren, China. Hua Chi is 70 years old now, and according to this article, his footprints inspire the younger monks at the temple.
“Every day I come here and every day I look at the piece of wood, and it has inspired me to continue to make the footprints myself,” Genden Darji, a 29 year-old monk in the monastery, notes.
So awesome!

I love these pretty behind-the-scenes shots from Australian Fashion Week! I can’t get the blue eyeliner underneath the middle model’s eyes out of my head! I want to try it, with a number of different colors. I think it might be something I’d have to wear out at night though, not so much of a day look… What do you guys think?

P.S. Do you think the big bun on the bottom model is all her natural hair??

OK nice to see- interesting comments are always helpful!
quinn -May 01, 2009, 6:45PM
i have done my makeup exactly like that, with a thick line of colorful liner on my bottom lid a lot. i love it in the summer! you can totally work it in the day too, just make the line thinner and more subtle, even try not extending it all the way into the inner corner of the eye. when night comes, just slab more on! i rely on urban decay 24/7 liners to do the job cuz they dont budge. they actually have a color exactly like the one the model is sporting, it's called "electric".
