Who Do You Want To Be: FP Me Looks Forward To The Season Ahead

This post comes from our blog intern, Natalie!

In the midst of the sweltering summer sun, fall feels like a lifetime away. In truth, only three short months separate us from crisper days, changing leaves, and most of all a fresh season to explore new trends and styles. While the cooler temperatures always mean revisiting light layering and cozy knits, this fall is an opportunity to continue exploring a seventies inspired style. High-waisted flares and a denim jumpsuit are just the start of the long list of the pieces I am anticipating for the new season.

It’s no secret that our FP Me babes are always ahead of the curve when it comes to fashion. With that in mind we asked some of our favorite FP Me stylists what they are looking forward to wearing most in fall. Check out their responses below!

“Fall is my favorite season. I cannot wait to start layering new and vintage-inspired pieces, like warm-colored knits, thermals, and flannels for those crisp autumn days and for nights spent around the campfire.”

“This fall I am looking forward to some over the knee boots to wear with either a high-wasted pencil skirt or a long breezy dress.  A great pair of boots can take these items from summer to fall in an instant. That’s a big thing for me since I’m a fan of maxi dresses and skirts, and I try to bring them into as many seasons as possible. Since I’m from San Diego and currently residing in Arizona, they are my essentials. I can safely say I own way too many of both.

I am also excited to put on some big cozy pullover sweaters. I’m all about being comfy and stylish, so I would pair a pullover sweater with a cute hat, skinny jeans, and some big chunky necklaces. The bigger and comfier the sweater is all the better for me!

Scarves are another item I love to style in the fall. They’re the perfect staple piece to take you from warm to cool weather. Plus, they are so darn cute and easy to wear! Who doesn’t love having something so soft hanging around your neck that also doubles as fashion? They are always a win-win in my fall wardrobe!”

“I’m looking forward to styling more prints/beading, etc. I normally wear them in summer only but now I’m going to start adding them to my fall wardrobe. I also love a good boot, my favorite kinds are to the knee, lace up military style, the classic Chelsea boot, more menswear inspired/brogue style and a good chunky heel.

Denim wise, I’m a fan of higher waists and flares. I love how they make me feel when I wear them and how I feel more feminine because my hourglass figure is more pronounced in higher waists. Jackets are my favorite! I’m looking forward to light layering. I normally gravitate towards vegan leather and I can’t wait to see what pieces are out for fall.”

“The fall season is my favorite time to experiment with fun boots, stylish jackets and of course layering! However, I am most excited for cozy cowl neck sweaters, vintage inspired leather pieces, and soft white and neutral color schemes.”

“I’m thrilled to see how fashion has been developing in the past year, with revivals of ’70s and ’90s pieces that give a vintage taste to the modernized boho style. It’s fun and artistic to mix with old and new pieces for a feminine and ethereal, but still edgy, look.”

“We’re lucky enough here in SoCal to experience a true “endless summer” and because of that, we get warm weather into the fall season. So I’m excited to see flowy, printed maxi styles and lightweight matching sets. I’m very petite so sometimes louder prints overwhelm me, but I think the more simple and classic styles of a set will flatter my body type, and be perfect weather wise.

Up until recently I didn’t follow fashion too closely, but my little sister manages one of the San Diego Free People stores and has taken the role of my personal shopper. She’s convinced me that high-waisted denim, mini skirts, and flares are something to look forward to this fall. Now, if only I was tall enough to pull off all those awesome flares! Oh, the struggles of being short and petite…

I’m a summer child but autumn is also fine. I love all the colors of the leaves and the wind. And there are so many opportunities with fashion because it’s cold enough to combine many things, starting with a great new jacket, booties and all that.

Such great fall styles mentioned here… I’m loving a billowy tunic with thigh high boots come fall with maybe a midi length card as a layering option.

A question… what’s the first dress listed at the top of this post? I couldn’t find a tag.
