Artwork We Love: GROW

There is a beautiful exhibit on display in Gallery 543 at the Navy Yard right now called GROW: An Upcycled Garden.  The exhibit features Earth Day themed pallets that were designed and painted by art students from the Saranac Lake High School Art Club in upstate NY.  They created them as a tribute to Anthropologie and the beauty of community gardens, with the goal of maintaining the uniqueness of the wood pallets while conveying a message of growth and working together. I love the concept behind this and every time I see them I am reminded of spring and all the beauty that comes with it! They did such a beautiful job – check out some photos below!

Love this! But I am a little confused as to why a school in upstate NY did these as a tribute to Anthro? What’s the connection? Thanks!
