UPDATE: This post originally ran on July 18th but we were in need of some fun nail art this weekend so we wanted to share it again!
As we begin to transition from summer to fall in the fashion world, color palettes and prints start to get a bit darker. Lately I’ve been really drawn to dark florals, and decided to try out some nail art. This nail art takes an abstract approach to florals, and it was actually really fun to do — it’s like creating little miniature paintings on your fingernails.
What you need: A dark base color (I used black, but dark blue would also look cool!), and whatever colors you want to use for the flowers. To paint the flowers, I used a Q-tip with one end cut off, and a toothpick.
Start by practicing — make sure you’re happy with the colors and design before applying to your nail.
Paint your base coat and let it fully dry.
Using the blunt end of the Q-tip, dip it in the polish and apply small dots to create the flower shape.
I used the toothpick to add some tiny white accents and green “leaves.” Apply a clear top coat, and you’re done!
Rings pictured: Stacking Ring Set, Stacking Delicate Ring, Smoky Mountain Stone Ring.

I think nail art is so pretty, I just know if I would have a steady hand to do it.

First of all you did such a great job! Your nails look so perfect! Great job.
Second of all, it’s insane that you posted this, because I literally have floral designs on navy on my fingers right now. (I have a picture on my instagram @juliettelaura)
And Third of all, I LOVE your rings.
