September 23–October 22

This week’s new moon in Libra represents your annual fresh start. If there’s something that you want to change about your appearance or how you come across, this is a good time to do it. Since the moon is sparring with Uranus in your relationship angle and Pluto in your past sector, this personal reinvention could be tied to a breakup or a shift in your relationship dynamics and also to the process of breaking away from an old version of yourself. Consider the impression that you make and what pattern of behavior would best be left behind. Mars in your subconscious zone is meeting with both Pluto and Jupiter, empowering you to face something within yourself, learn from it and transform it. A Venus-Neptune opposition pushes you to recognize any unhealthy illusions you may have about a relationship and/or about your own selflessness. Avoid being a martyr. If you truly want to help people, do so with no invisible strings attached.

October 23–November 21

The new moon in the last house of your chart this week encourages you to begin a new spiritual practice, spend time recharging your battery, do a bit of soul-searching and make your peace with an ending. Because the moon is battling Uranus in your efficiency zone and Pluto in your mindset sector, the need to release something within you is apt to compete with—or be triggered by—major shifts in your daily life and your thinking. Mars and Pluto, your co-ruling planets, are collaborating now, facilitating teamwork, group activities and the pursuit of new hopes, and they’re also helping you to come to grips with the heavy thoughts churning in your head. You’ll feel more in control if you take action and recruit people to support you. Your perspective will deepen as you pursue your interests and ideals surrounded by those who share them with you. Faith in humanity can change your whole mentality.

November 22–December 21

A new moon this week nudges you to join a group or strengthen your ties to one, renew a friendship, pursue new interests, find a new cause you care about and expand your contacts. The moon’s squabbles with Uranus and Pluto allude to a juggling act between connecting with others, doing what pleases you and grappling with shifting resources and priorities. It could seem challenging to express your individuality and still fit in with a group, and it might be a good idea to seek out a different circle of people that is excited about the same things as you are. Mars in your ambition angle is collaborating with Pluto and Jupiter now, encouraging you to go after your goals with confidence and determination. Dig deep into your trove of talents, and envision the success that you’re aiming for, but avoid being overbearing. On the other hand, don’t let underlying insecurity keep you from making the impression you want to make.

December 22–January 19

This week’s new moon nudges you to begin a fresh chapter in your career, renew your commitment to a goal, improve your rapport with an authority figure and put your best foot forward in public. The moon is fighting with Uranus in your roots angle and Pluto in Capricorn, tying your surge in ambition to the process of breaking free from the past and transforming yourself from within. Your motivation to get ahead will be strong, but not necessarily pleasant. It may feel more like compulsion than inspiration. But Mars in your expansion sector is gelling with Pluto and meeting up with Jupiter, giving you a more positive push. This planetary combo can give you the courage to explore, become more aware, push past old boundaries and beliefs, fight for what you know is right and foster your personal growth by broadening your horizons. Seize any opportunity to learn something, meet someone or have an experience that will change you.

January 20–February 18

A new moon in your expansion sector this week coaxes you to meet people outside your usual circle, embrace a new philosophy, take a big trip, explore a new area of study, have an adventure and get outside your everyday routine. The moon’s skirmishes with Uranus and Pluto imply that inner emotional rumblings and changes in your thinking can provoke you to break free from the limitations of your current existence. An impulse to shake things up might be the main motivating factor now, and this lunation could start you off on a quest for new meaning in your life. Mars is in your depth house and clicking with Pluto and Jupiter, strengthening your determination to turn a corner. Push yourself to heal an old wound or rebound from a difficult period. Trust, closeness and sharing require a leap of faith, and you’re fully capable of taking it, but you may need to put the past to rest in order to do so.

February 19–March 20

The new moon in your sharing sector this week encourages you to seek new outside resources such as a loan or grant, pay off debts, get closer to someone, shift something in your psyche and focus on one thing intently. Since the moon is quarreling with Uranus and Pluto, the ups and downs in your finances or confidence and the changes in your friendships or group affiliations could directly impact your initiative. With Mars aligning with Jupiter in your one-on-one angle and jibing with Pluto in your network sector, your best bet is to team up. You might work through a conflict with an individual or partner with someone to accomplish an important objective. Seek out people who inspire you. This is a good time to fight for justice and equality and to devote your energy to changing something in the world. A Venus-Neptune faceoff reminds you that you’re drawn to people who you view through the lens of your ideals—and vice versa.

March 21–April 19

The new moon lands in your one-on-one angle this week and spars with Uranus in your sign and Pluto in your ambition angle. Consider this a push from the planets to find fresh ways to balance your independence, relationships and goals. You might form a new connection or recommit to an existing one in the coming month. Try to be aware of other people’s needs and feelings while still maintaining your individuality and pursuing your professional objectives. Focus on becoming better at compromising and negotiating, and recognize your competing impulse to break free and do your own thing. Mars in your productivity house is gelling with both Pluto and Jupiter now, empowering you to accomplish a great deal and hopefully make some progress in your career. If you combine hard work, enthusiasm for what you’re doing, faith in your abilities and a determination to leave your mark in the world, you’re likely to make significant headway during this period.

April 20–May 20

This week, a new moon in your efficiency zone connects with liberating Uranus in your releasing sector and transformational Pluto in your vision house, prompting you to initiate a period of self-improvement. This is a great time to adopt a new habit, sharpen your skills, begin a fitness regimen, start eating healthier, look for a different job, streamline your schedule, create a better work environment, tackle a health issue and deal with details. You might start a new project or make a change in your daily life that pushes you out of your old routine and challenges you to break free from the past and grow. Mars is cooperating with Pluto and Jupiter, helping you to confidently pursue what you want and express who you are—and become wiser in the process. A Venus-Neptune opposition reminds you to balance personal pleasure with serving group interests. You’re susceptible to romanticizing a friendship now, so try to avoid fostering illusions.

May 21–June 20

This week’s new moon coaxes you to start a new romance or bring more romance into a current relationship, begin a creative endeavor, find a new hobby, discover new pleasures and enjoy life more. The moon’s squabbles with Uranus and Pluto imply that feedback from others may be inconsistent or negative, driving you to keep trying to express yourself. These planetary clashes remind you to balance your individuality with your connections to others. Mars is meeting with Pluto and Jupiter now, enabling you to work through your emotions to the point where you can generate a significant shift in your psyche or in a close relationship. This is also a fortuitous period for initiating a big project in your home or an intensive research project. And you might have the courage now to confront a family problem, an ingrained behavior pattern or a difficult issue from the past and finally come out on the other side, stronger than before.

June 21–July 22

This week, a new moon lands in your foundation angle, nudging you to shore up your inner security, change your living space, put down new roots, pay attention to what your moods are telling you and add a new self-care ritual to your daily routine. The moon is battling Uranus in your ambition angle and Pluto in your one-on-one sector, so an emotional or domestic shift might compete with—or be provoked by—changes in your career, life direction and relationships. Your instinct is to tend to your own need for comfort and safety now, but upheaval in the outer world or in your personal life could make it difficult to feel peaceful and settled. Mars is collaborating with Pluto and Jupiter, helping you to assert yourself, fight for your ideas, maintain a positive mindset and reach out to people who have the ability to make a difference in your life. You have the power of persuasion now, so use it well.

July 23–August 22

The new moon in your cognition-and-communication sector this week could bring new information to light, get you to think about something differently, trigger a decision, generate a change with a sibling or in your community and increase the tempo of your everyday interactions. Since the moon is fighting with Uranus and Pluto, a shift in your mindset is apt to be driven by changes in your overall knowledge of the world and changes in your job, your health or your daily routine. You’re encouraged to ask questions, learn as much as you can and keep an open mind. Mars in your worth house is teaming up with Pluto and Jupiter, enabling you to improve your finances, reorganize your possessions, act on your priorities, fight for what you need and maximize your talents in an effort to transform your work life. Use all the resources at your disposal, let your spiritual values deepen your work and try to avoid overspending.

August 23–September 22

This week’s new moon nudges you to create a budget, pursue a fresh source of income, tune into all five senses and examine needs versus wants. You’re called to improve your confidence and self-sufficiency, partly in response to upheaval in outside resources or joint finances. Instability in a relationship or uncertainty about who you can depend on might drive you to become more self-reliant. A shift related to creativity, love, children or self-expression may also push you to shore up your assets and self-worth. Mars in Virgo is harmonizing with Pluto and Jupiter, empowering you to tackle something big. Try to avoid dominating others, but do fight for your rights if necessary. Pursue your own agenda freely, and have the courage to present a different part of your personality to the world. A Venus-Neptune opposition hints at the illusions or deception involved in personal attraction. Try not to idealize another person or compromise too much in an effort to hold onto someone.
