Where Your Heart is Full

“Home is where your heart is full. You feel a constant euphoria and you
never want to leave that moment that you wish could last an eternity.”

This post comes to us by way of Alec Mckeand, a guy with an incredibly
discerning eye but endless perspective.

“Home for me is where the light hits the pine trees just right, where the
peaks are dusted with snow, where you reach such great heights that it
must be heaven, where the lakes are more blue than the sky, where time
seems to stop, and where the moments fully seize me.

“Home is when I’m in the presence of the mountains. Most say they feel
insignificant when surrounded by such glorious giants. I feel welcomed,
loved, at peace, and like maybe I am enough. That’s all I could ever ask
for. That’s home.”

  1. Beautiful. All anyone wants is to feel like they are enough. Full. The forest has always done that for me. Surrounded by trees reaching up to the sky and grounded to the earth, this is when I feel whole and at peace. Watching the trees sway in the wind, dancing as a community. I feel great joy and serenity watching the forest dance, the sun shining bright, leaves glowing and showing their true but translucent colours. Home is in the forest ;)

  2. That was lovely Alec. Thanks for sharing a little piece of your spirit. It brings me great joy to know that the mountains embrace you. I understand that feeling. There is a serenity about being among the pines, on tops of mountains and beside still lakes. And Alec, you *are* enough.

  3. Those are the most beautiful pictures! Personally, I feel most at home in my neighbourhood for I know the streets, the houses and the people living there. But home for me isn’t always a place, it’s my family, my boyfriend and my best friends. And sometimes it’s just a smell or a song.

  4. I can see myself living in peace, surrounded by beauty and God’s creation. I thank you, for allowing me to see the world of nature through your eyes. I am not surprised a “critical eye” is your gift, but not a critical spirit. Your words are profound… they touch my inner being. You are enough! You belong. I think the pines have already shown it to you.

  5. Oh this post is bringing back memories! I went hiking in Norway over the summer and it was the most beautiful experience, I felt so at peace and these words and photographs really resonate with me.
