“twinkling gems add a dusting of mysterious wonder to your outfit. hang with admiration on your wall like a cherished piece of artwork. exquisite pieces for gifts, and for your loved ones to treasure.”
chapter two focuses on gift items so special we consider them treasures… vintage chainmail evening bags, statement jewelry and delicate lace slips so beautiful you almost won’t want to wear them. The treasures were photographed in philadelphia by rene micheli.
i love this shot of the bags from our vintage loves collection too:

this is our biggest book to date, and there’s so much t want to tell you about it, from the photographers to the models to the locations. starting with chapter one…
“the center of attention, she glistens in the night. she is a cinderella star in a beautiful dress. She’s the special one, the one with magic all around her.”
to achieve an atmosphere of holiday magic and fantasy, our team went to northumberland england and shot part of this section at eglingham hall – a location known for being the backdrop to many of tim walker’s magical shoots.
the location was perfect to capture the essence of a girl who awakes to find herself in a fairytale, the lines between reality and dreams are blurred. she dons a beautiful dress and dances off into the night like cinderella.
the photographer for the shoot at eglingham hall was benjamin huseby, who’s dreamy photography captured the spirit of the belle of the ball beautifully, as brought to life by models julia hafstrom and jessica mau.
the third model in this section, who also graces the cover, is the lovely zippora seven. she was shot wearing some of our gorgeous holiday dresses here at the home office in philly by our photographer anthony nocella. she’s done so many great shoots, but these two photos have always been among my favorites:
i have lots of photos of eglingham hall to show you so stay tuned :) and view the entire november catalog right here!
Here at Free People, we know and love cords. It’s falls go-to fabric. This Autumn/winter we have styles to suit your “wear till they’re threadable” needs, as well as the chic tulip flare that you’ll turn to when you want to smarten up. These are the styles we’ll be wearing this autumn.”
First round modeled by one of our lovely girls working here at the home office: the flared cord which is perfect for Fall, and the shape is super sexy!
Our studio has been shooting looks for holiday this week for our web. Here’s a couple of snapshots; we invited Natalie from Natalie off duty here… she’s like a giant pixie being, so beautiful!
The looks are very exciting and are going to make for some must have outfits ready for holiday!
Our Holiday Catalog launches very soon, can’t wait for you guys to see. It’s very nice!

chapter one: be the belle of the ball
chapter two: treasures
chapter three: the sketchbook
chapter four: wee people
chapter five: grab a bag
chapter six: wrap me in a sweater

i am so excited to introduce wee people… a line for our tiniest muses!
the collection captures the spirit of the free people girl in her earliest stages, when fairy tales are real and imagination knows no boundaries. whimsical party dresses to release her inner princess, cozy sweaters and items with free people’s unique details and elements to make her feel as special as she is.
the line is the baby of our managing director of design and image, who drew her inspiration from her daughter and the desire to create a wardrobe for her that had the same uniqueness as free people. the focus of the first collection, which falls during holiday season, are girly party dresses countered with cozy, comfy items made to be played in all winter long.
the size range for wee people is 2t – 6t. the collection will debut online and in our november catalog on november 2nd.
here are some outtakes from our wee people photo shoot, featuring some of the cutest little models you’ll ever see!
we loved working with natalie suarez on our october catalog so much, we asked her to come back and model in our studio! here she is off duty in our office this week- look for her on our website soon!
our third and final october catalog model, rumi neely, was photographed by her boyfriend colin sokol at the home of our senior designer in mt. airy, philadelphia. i posted some photos of the gorgeous home the other day, and here are some photos from rumi’s day of shooting there.
stay tuned for a video tour of the house coming soon!
a couple of our stores posted about the blog fashionlitter on their facebook pages so i checked it out- this girl definitely loves fp! and she wears it well too :) i like the way she styled our items in these pics!
you guys might remember a while back, we had a couple of our summer interns set up a makeshift “store” in our office, filled with items that were actually going to be used in our october catalog. well the purpose was to create a really nice environment for when rumi neely came into our office, so she could experiment with all of the items and choose her outfits for the shoot! i went up and hung out with her for a little bit and snapped some photos. both rumi and her boyfriend colin are incredibly sweet and down to earth people and work so well together, they’re fun to watch :)
