“i was too curious about the future to look back.”

you may recognize this girl from some free people catalogs! she modeled in our december ’09 and january ’10 books, and i interviewed her back then for the blog. michele often works in paris – and hung out with our team while they were shooting there – so i asked her for a little rundown of her ideal day off in paris!
paris! such a fun, beautiful city. i love working there and no matter how many times i visit there is always something fabulous to discover! the city is set up in such a way that nearly every corner you turn, a gorgeous monument or bridge or statue or building is right in front of you. there is so much to take in! whenever i have some time to kill between castings i explore st. germain and le marais or pop into one of the many museums. my perfect day off would look something like this…

i know that tattoos aren’t for everyone, but i’ve always thought they are beautiful. it’s a form of art and a way to express yourself that is completely unique from anyone else and very personal and meaningful. i love seeing other peoples’ tattoos and hearing the meaning behind them – its like being let in on a secret. i sometimes think of my tattoos almost like scars- and i don’t mean that in a negative way. they represent things that i have gone through, things that have left their mark on me – emotional scars, perhaps.
there are several people here in the office that have amazing tattoos and i thought i’d share a few.
chau’s beautiful tattoo is her own handwriting – she’s an amazing artist.
our graphic designer’s tattoos were done by a friend.
our videographer and one of her close friends got this matching tattoo.
my favorite of my tattoos… it came to me in a dream, and the meaning is inspired by a song, but that’s all i will say :)
jemma’s tattoo is inspired by times spent bird watching with her dad.
this is so rad – it’s actually a map of all the places she and her best friend used to hang out.
and just one of our photographer’s many amazing tattoos.
how do you guys feel about tattoos? do you have one, or if you got one, what would you get?
you guys might not all know this but we have a showroom in nyc where some of our fp girls work! they are adorable and of course very stylish. our videographer snapped this pic when she was there last week :)
have you guys checked out our january lookbook, featuring french blogger miss pandora? i love it – it doesn’t hurt to have the beautiful city of paris as the backdrop :) which look do you guys love most?

i’m heading to new york tomorrow for our april catalog shoot and i am beyond excited – the photographer will again be the amazing guy aroch and the model is sasha pivovarova! we may have a few other tricks up our sleeves as well…;)
i will check in from time to time and maybe give you a little sneak peek so stay tuned…
see you next week!
i’m so in love with these hand-painted wooden coasters that i saw on design sponge the other day! they have been painted with hex signs that the author traced onto the wood with carbon paper, but it would be fun to make your own patterns as well :) such a great way to add a bit of color to your coffee table!
the colors are perfect. click here for the full tutorial!
ever wish you could take a peek inside the home of a fashion blogger? i always imagine what their homes look like, what they surround themselves with and what inspires them – the way people decorate their place is so indicative of their personality – i love checking out peoples’ music and book collections in particular :)
our stylists snapped some photos at louise ebel’s home in paris and isn’t it charming? i love the little knick knacks everywhere – you can tell she’s a sentimental person who holds on to gifts, treasured items and dried flowers, which i love! i’m the same way.
j’adore!
in order to capture the magical feel of paris for our january lookbook, our stylists returned to the city to shoot it with french blogger louise ebel, also known as miss pandora! a parisian beauty with striking red hair and eclectic style, she wears the clothes from our january book perfectly. here are some shots of our stylists in paris, and behind the scenes of the lookbook shoot, which was photographed by louise’s friend chloé le drezen who often takes the photos for her blog.

Animal Print would you wear it??
Leopard is the type of print I have a love/hate relationship with. I can’t decide… I look at it and think naaaaaaaaaah, and then my conscious slaps me in the face and says “hang on a minute this can be cool”. Then, I bounce around with ideas of how to wear it.
I’m consciously seeing it everywhere lately, and I think it’s growing into a big trend.
I think the way I would wear it would be… in chiffon. It would have to be muted. If I were to go bold with the print it would have to be in sneak peek accessories.
I like seeing people wearing chiffon leopard maxi dresses and shirts too. Ahhhhh, see my mind is all over the place with this print.
I’m very intrigued to see if any of you Fp girls would wear animal print and if so how??
now that jemma and i have both been here for about a year we felt it was time to update the “about us” section of the blog :) we each gathered some photos to give you all a little glimpse into our lives and i wanted to share them so you know they’re there!
