Hi, I'm a bit confused. Isn't dutch braiding all "under?" In the directions, she makes it sound like she's alternating with over and under?? Can someone help?

Post image for The Fine Art of the Getaway Car

Think back to some of the earliest documentations of weddings. The image that immediately comes to my mind is a bride and groom side-by-side, being carried away into a blissful horizon by a vehicle that’s been lavishly decorated. Read more »

Wow, this article actually changed my view about getaway cars. Before I was all about simplicity and thought it was somewhat silly when people would put so much elaboration and effort into a single night. (*cough* Kardashians *cough*) Anyways, I realized that it means so much more than that. The getaway car is almost like a colorful rocket shooting the couple out into a new and bright future ahead. I love the ideas here--the vividness, neon craziness of the colors and how well they couple with each other!

These jackets are so rad - I love them. JJ and I met almost 4 years ago. We were both surfing a little-known wave in San Diego on a Sunday was my local break and doesn't get very crowded. I usually know, or at least recognize everyone in the lineup. Normally I like to be left alone in the water, but I've never wished that someone would talk to me so badly in my life. After what felt like forever, he broke the ice and we started talking, which was great because I pretty much had hypothermia at that point. We were doing a lot more talking than surfing, and eventually took the conversation to the beach. Then to a cafe for lunch, and then to my favorite local bar for a beer. Before we knew it the sun was setting and he had to get back to LA for work the next morning...turns out JJ lived 2+ hours away and was in town with friends for the weekend. Before he left, we made plans to spend the very next weekend together. It was obvious to us from the day we met that this was something special. For our 6-month anniversary, we went camping in Joshua Tree National Park, which is in the high desert of SoCal. It was the most special place either of us had ever been (which says a lot considering we're both surfers who love the ocean). 2 and a half years later we went back to Joshua Tree for our 3 year anniversary, and he proposed. Our wedding date is 3/19/16 in Joshua Tree, CA.

I spotted him in my first class on my first day at my new University. I zeroed in on him immediately and was drawn to him in a way I had never experienced with anyone before. I had to have him. He sat in the very back of a 150-person lecture course and on the first day, I had chosen a seat in the middle on the right side of the room. For two weeks after that, I would spend every class period gradually moving my seat a little closer to him until I was finally four seats away from him in the same row. I was determined to learn his name. Little did I know, he had had his eye on me too and he had noticed me moving towards the back. He even tried to approach me once with notes he had taken that I had missed. He had overheard me talking to the person next to me about how I didn't have them. Before he got the chance to give them to me that day, I had bolted out of the room ("New York Style" as he likes to put it (***A bit of back story: I had just transferred from my university in NYC to VCU in Virginia)) leaving him there to figure out another way to talk to me. A week or two later, we were both at the same group study session that some of the teachers in the department occasionally arranged and he approached me. I swear my brain was a combination of "!!!!!!!!!!!" and "&@#^$*&!!#&" as I saw him walking towards me. He asked me what I had gotten on the last exam and I pretended I didn't even know he was in my class! Lame, I know, but I didn't want to seem like I had been crushing on him nonstop since the very first day of class! I had to play it cool. We ended up chatting nonstop during the study session and then more once it ended. We walked around campus right afterwards, talking about anything and everything until he finally asked me if I wanted to have dinner with him at a cafe just around the block. I agreed and we ended up sitting there laughing and chatting away for almost 4 hours (I got two parking tickets while I was in there and I still joke that he was an expensive date!). We quickly found out how much we had in common. The only problem was, we were both scared to death of getting into a new relationship. We had both been in long-term relationships that had ended terribly just earlier that year (both relationships had coincidentally ended in February) and we both moved to Richmond to get a fresh start and focus on ourselves. For 6 months we remained in this confusing "are we or aren't we" place until finally we decided that there was no use in trying to deny what the both of us had together. We had become best friends and completely inseparable. It took 6 whole months for us to finally put a label on it but I wouldn't take back that terribly confusing time for anything. We took things slow and learned so much about each other in those months. We are both big believers in fate and we knew that this had to be it. What else do you call two broken people, down on their luck managing to find each other at just the right time? That's fate if I've ever seen it. Flash forward two years, and we're out of school and traveling the country in a camper we saved up for. He proposed to me at a little drive-in movie in the middle of Idaho that he "randomly" wanted to stop at one night on our journey. We were on the hood of his car, eating cheeseburgers and drinking milkshakes under the stars when he told me he wanted life like this with me forever and asked me to be his wife. We're getting married 5/7/16 and I can't wait for the rest of my life to be as big of an adventure with him as it has been since the day we met.

Moon Canyon is such a beautiful brand full of talented creatives. I have SO loved following their journey on Instagram and I was so excited to see them here! I love a ton of greenery (herbs, succulents, eucalyptus) for weddings. I'm tying the knot in September and that's definitely our plan! Hazel + Scout

such gorgeous flowers......I love to see unique bouquets at weddings...something a bit rebellious, flowers that is not the typical "wedding flower" bouquet seen in all the standard wedding magazines...I especially love the wild flowers freshly picked from a spring meadow, flowers that are a bit unruly and untamed....something a bit more boho and free spirited than the "typical bouquet" is a breath of fresh air to me! . The Weaver Of Words.....give me 15 words and I'll tell you a tale
