Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day everyone! It’s a good day for reflection and for love.
This picture completely trips me out! Focus on one spot in the picture and it will stop moving all around. It’s the cover from Animal Collective’s newest album, Merriweather Post Pavilion. Word is that this album is doing extremely well, which rocks, cause I love Animal Collective! Want to hear a song off the album? Go here to listen to the song My Girls.
Ever since I saw this picture on Booooooom, I can’t stop looking at it! I’m not sure if it’s the really textural stuff the people are standing in, or the total lack of stuff in the top part of the picture. (Other than the bits flying off the person’s hands.) I just really like it! It’s by Brendan Monroe, and if you are intrigued too, you should check out the post Booooooom did about him. You’ll find many more interesting works with lots of movement in them.

As occasionally happens, we have a pair of unintentional twins at the home office today! Jasmine and Kristin came in wearing the same fun Free People top! Even sweeter, they are both Intimates Designers, and sit right across from one another! Cute!
Today I came across this neat little feature in the New York Times. It’s a slide show with some audio. The slide show features some nice street fashion shots by Bill Cunningham, NYT Photographer. The audio is a very interesting little blurb where Bill conjectures that fashion is going to have some really dramatic changes as a result of our current financial problems. Bill is surprisingly older, and remembers the Great Depression, so he has experience to back up his hypothesis. It’s an interesting feature, worth checking out. What do you think? Remember when I made that post about mantyhose the other day? Well today I found this guy over on Street Boners & TV Carnage in their Street Boners section, which is a street fashion column. I thought I’d post him because he’s a good example of a guy actually wearing them around, rather than a posed shot. Also I noticed that they called them guylons and not mantyhose. Interesting!
