the world is in the palm of our hands

post by our store operations intern, cara.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

One of my biggest fears is regret, and I know that if I do not see the world (or as much of it as I can), I will not be satisfied with my life.

I have always been curious; about other cultures, other music, other food, other fashion trends…about everything! Everyday I am anxious to experience new things in new places. I am lucky to have been to Italy with my family several times, along with Greece and Turkey. I have family in various states that have allowed me to go across the country. But I won’t stop now. I plan to see places that some people only dream of. The world is a beautiful creation and I won’t take it for granted while I am here. I am scared of being in unfamiliar place, but that’s the fun of it. Testing your own limits.

Working down at the Navy Yard, with the planes constantly passing over, has made me even more eager to visit a new place.

Where do you want to go before you die?

one of our fp girls sent me these photos of a place called greensgrow in fishtown, philadelphia – a nursery/market that sells fresh, locally grown produce.  they also have a CSA (community supported agriculture) program in which you can buy a “share” in a farms’ season and each week get a box of produce and fruit produced on the farm.

check out their website, too- they post lots of recipes to give you ideas for what to do with all your fresh fruits and veggies! YUM.

another fp girl showed me this the other day and i was amazed- i’ve never seen this before! rainbow eucalyptus is the only type of eucalyptus that grows in the northern hemisphere.  every year the trees shed their bark in multiple patches at various times.  this exposes the green inner bark which changes colors to blue, orange, purple and red as it matures – resulting in a rainbow of color.

so is it possible to have one of these in my apartment??? love.

2 day dream…

i had the opportunity to watch two bands i love – edward sharpe & the magnetic zeros and dr. dog – from the area between the stage and the crowd, and when i was able to keep myself from dancing around all over the place i managed to get some photos :)

welcome to building 25!

coming to work this morning was really exciting – we left work on friday having packed up all our stuff and said goodbye to building 15 – and we came in today to a brand new building.  i am still completely blown away – the people who designed and decorated this new space did an unbelievable job, and i am in awe that this is where i get to work.
