behind the scenes – january lookbook

in order to capture the magical feel of paris for our january lookbook, our stylists returned to the city to shoot it with french blogger louise ebel, also known as miss pandora! a parisian beauty with striking red hair and eclectic style, she wears the clothes from our january book perfectly. here are some shots of our stylists in paris, and behind the scenes of the lookbook shoot, which was photographed by louise’s friend chloé le drezen who often takes the photos for her blog.

Lovely Leopard

Animal Print would you wear it??

Leopard is the type of print I have a love/hate relationship with. I can’t decide… I look at it and think naaaaaaaaaah, and then my conscious slaps me in the face and says “hang on a minute this can be cool”. Then, I bounce around with ideas of how to wear it.

I’m consciously seeing it everywhere lately, and I think it’s growing into a big trend.
I think the way I would wear it would be… in chiffon. It would have to be muted. If I were to go bold with the print it would have to be in sneak peek accessories.

I like seeing people wearing chiffon leopard maxi dresses and shirts too. Ahhhhh, see my mind is all over the place with this print.

I’m very intrigued to see if any of you Fp girls would wear animal print and if so how??

in the mix

it’s a miserable day in philly and after thawing my car out of a block of ice i am stealing the energy and warmth of these behind the scenes pictures from our latest special shoot.  the shoot was for the mixed print trend on our website right now – we love how fresh this trend feels going into spring. to get the amazing special shots our team went to the home of our creative director, which they turned into a bohemian lounge full of rich prints and bold colors. looking at these photos (taken by our talented videographer) my breath was taken away…they look like they’re in a caravan on their way to a festival… with puppies of course :)

the perfect pair

in my mind there are few things better than grilled cheese and tomato soup.  especially when it’s cold out – but really, it’s good any time. while i’m perfectly content with my usual campbell’s tomato soup and wheat bread + cheddar, i found some recipes online that look pretty out of this world.

this tomato basil soup looks sooooo good – love the idea of topping with fresh basil and thin slices of parmesan cheese!

recipe here.

now for the grilled cheese part – this one stopped me dead in my tracks.  its made with homemade beer bread, sharp cheddar and fontina cheese, dijon mustard and caramelized onions – and though i’d probably do it without the onions, it looks incredible – not to mention combines three of my favorite things ;)

bohemian french wedding

one of our facebook fans posted a link to this gorgeous bohemian and french inspired wedding and i wanted to share some of the photos! i’ve never been the type of girl that’s into weddings or has any desire to have one (unless it involves bare feet, the beach and tribal tattoos) but i will say i find weddings to be beautiful and am always inspired by the tiny little details that people incorporate.  for instance, i love the little french touches in this wedding!

the bride, an artist, painted the image for the wedding invites and had them printed as fine art prints, with the details on the back, so that people could keep and frame them if they wanted to.

they set up an antique french dresser with a stack of vintage postcards that people could write notes on and leave in a drawer for the couple.

there was a coffee bar at the reception, and tea boxes were used as centerpieces for the tables.

dried flowers and lavender were used as well for centerpieces, inspired by french country homes.
