Post image for Photo Tour: Inside Our Digital Tech’s Simply Beautiful Home

When our digital tech began working here at Free People, I discovered her food blog, a Better Happier St. Sebastian, and immediately I was obsessed. Not only are her recipes to die for, there is a simple, light, crisp, and happy quality about her photos – to the point where I can’t look away. When I entered her home (where she lives with her boyfriend), it was no different. Read more »

Post image for A Pretty Update To Your Bathroom

When it comes to décor, I think that no area of the home should go unacknowledged – and that includes your shower. A while back I did a post on creating a desirable shower space, and one of my tips was to transfer all beauty products into beautiful glass bottles to evoke simplicity and steer away from the cluttered look of commercialized product bottles. Today I want to take that concept one step further. Read more »

Wow I'm in love with the wood carved mirror! Where did you get it ??? I've been looking for one for a while now with no luck:-(
Katerina -Jan 06, 2014, 6:56AM
Beautiful, glass and fresh flowers always more luxurious. The only problem is that glass is not that safe to use in the bathroom.

Post image for DIY Zen Garden

When I first came to Free People, I remember falling in love with the giant zen garden that was in the lobby. It was filled with crochet-covered rocks and tiny little trinkets, and FP girls would draw all different designs in the sand to help calm and relax their minds. Read more »

Post image for DIY Twig Tabletop Teepees

I’m always looking for new ways to use twigs and branches as décor, and today I want to share an idea that I think is just so adorable. These tabletop teepees are probably one of the easiest crafts you’ll ever make, and what I love most about them is that they’re totally customizable – there are so many different ways to make this project unique to your personal decorating style. A teepee? Really? this is a little insensitive to aboriginal culture isn't it?

This is a great idea! I was looking for a new way to incorporate some pics in my room. Instead of feathers Im thinking of use the floss to hang pics.

Post image for 3 Ways To Use Antique Window Panes

Old window panes make beautiful decorations. I love hanging them up on my wall because, even though they don’t actually allow you to see outside, they remind me of peering into or out of a beautiful little cottage surrounded by overgrown gardens. I recently acquired a bunch of antique window panes from a friend who works on houses, and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity for me to try out some cool ways to use them. Read more »

So good idea. I have had one window at home and thinking what am I to do with it. Thank you :-)

When you say regular paper for the photos, do you mean just standard photo paper or actual writing paper? I really like this idea and want to try it, but I want to make sure I do it correctly.:)

Post image for Decorating With Birch Wood

As a decorator, I have a huge crush on all things birch. I love nature and I love light colors, so the fact that these trees have a natural white bark is so aesthetically appealing to me. I love bringing birch inside to offer a soft, happy, natural element to my home — and there are so many different ways to do it. Read more »

I just made our unity candle holder out of birch thanks to this giving me the idea. Our wedding theme was rustic & it fit perfectly into it! I also was inspired by your wood burning post to make our cake topper myself. It turned out phenomenal too! Keep the great DIY ideas coming!
Sarah K -Jul 25, 2013, 5:17AM
Hello , I really really love birch ( you are not alone :-) ) and want to integrate a lot more of it in my flat. I already made this candleholder but only for tea candles so it won't burn down.

Post image for Making Your Desk Space Feel Like Home

It’s kind of crazy when I think about how much time I spend here in the office. Nine to ten hours a day, five days a week… that’s definitely more time than I spend (awake) in my own home. In a way, the office is my other home, so why not make it feel like home? Read more »
