This member of the Candy design team has pretty rad style. She’s not afraid to wear something far out. Piled high each day in vintage, she often dresses in motifs and themes. It’s so nontraditional that it works. With little gothic touches, and that wear-whatever-you-want motto, she reminds me a bit of Abbey Lee. Although her style is loud as can be, once you walk up and say hi she’s a quiet nonchalant personality. I love the guts that she approaches fashion with everyday.

Style File: Sample Coordinator
This week’s style file is an FP girl through and through. She’s been working for the brand almost five years now, and she has the styling down pat. It goes something like: layer, layer, layer, awesome ankle-cut shoes, necklace, necklace, necklace, and then a fist full of rings. In writing it sounds like it’d be too much, but in person and in the photos you can see that it goes together amazingly. What do I want to rip off her most though? The jewelry. This girl has a collection that I think any girl would lust after. It’s full of rough stones, hammered metals, and ethnic engravings. She has a lot of artisan pieces that are funky and one of a kind.
Nothing like a great bulldog face…
Her friend gave her the binocular necklace when she moved away so that she could always see home (Chicago) from Philly. What a cute friend!
She may have moved to Pennsylvania, but her new plates are still Illinois.
The Hooded Vegan Leather Jacket and High Waisted Textured Shorts
How cool do the Buckle Back Ankle Boots look with red fishnets??
Style File: Assistant Stylist
This week’s Style File is one of our adorable styling assistants. All day long she runs around the web studio making sure that looks get shot, that they look good, and that the process moves along in an organized smooth manner. It’s tough work, but she’s always cheery and relaxed. Having moved here from Austin, TX (jealous? I think so), maybe it’s her southern roots that spark this kind of attitude.
Her style on the other hand, does not remind me Austin. It’s much more sophisticated – tailored even – though, it, like her personality, has a touch of kookiness. It’s a pea coat and lady-like dress paired with…knee highs? You half expect it to be prim and proper from head-to-toe, but then she confuses you like that. It’s great! She doesn’t take herself too seriously but she has great taste in sophisticated pieces. Check it out…

Style File: Creative Design Assistant
She’s like a mix between Rachel Zoe and Alexa Chung – a shaggy jacket paired with a retro mini. She holds one of the most coveted positions at a fashion brand, and she’s this week’s inspiring style file. Our Creative Design Assistant (assistant to the Creative Director) knows exactly how to rock her miniature frame. She’s always put together to the t’s, and knows how to pull off classic, cool, and edgy all at the same time. Did I mention how warm and adorable she is?

Talk about the perfect relaxed tee look….
Her adorable baby, Ruby!
Style File: Intimates Fashion Manager
Our head intimates buyer is one stylish lady who knows what she likes and sticks to it. Two of those things definitely seem to be platform shoes and oversized tops. She pulls the two together in a modern hippie sort of way. It’s chic with free spirited accents, like a vintage print or edgy hand piece, thrown in. Her hair is almost always down and perfectly tousled to top off the look.
Stars & moons on her nails!
The fur bomber makes the look (similar style here).
<3 the wash on these jeans
Style File: Merchandising Intern
Fresh out of college, our merchandising intern here at the office has sleek, cool-girl style. She pulls looks together with the ease of an off-duty model – rarely sporting color, and rocking a repertoire of easy tees, skinny jeans, ankle boots, and leather. Tattoos pepper her body with an added edge that’s subtle, but present. Behind all that seriousness is a sweet girl ready to ask you how your weekend was and share a funny story behind the pieces she’s wearing. Seeing her outfit each day was an excitement – I hope it you all think so too!
The Free People Pretty Suede Ankle Boot :)
Style File: Associate Buyer
This week’s style file is our one of our adorable associate buyers. I was attracted toward her style because of its effortlessness. Emanating from her attitude and seeping into her style, she walks around exuding an aura that’s casual and full of happiness. It’s never over the top, but always perfectly put together and relaxed. From a rolled up cuff, to a stellar combination of delicate and funky jewelry, it’s evident that there’s a good eye at work here.
She’s a pro at rocking the Joe Lace Up Over the Knee Boot proving that there are so many ways to wear them and that they always look great.
These Karen Walker sunnies are so Audrey Hepburn. The tortoise is amazing!
Free People’s Zodiac Cuff! I’m thinking this may be a great gift for the holidays.
Style File:Designer
This lovely lady with romantic style is a designer here at Free People. Beautiful wrap dresses and flowing chiffon paired with her head of fiery red curls give off an almost Victorian feeling. She puts an updated twist on the classically beautiful elements with leather leggings, boho wedges, and playful nail art. A master of prints, you’ll often catch this designer in a statement pattern that is to die.
Some Halloween fun :)
Style File: Sample Coordinator-Accessories
Fierce jewelry, tights, and boots are all staples in our accessory sample coordinator’s fall wardrobe. Hailing from Florida her wardrobe is warm weather heavy, but she’s pulled in the power of layering to update it for our cooler Philadelphia climate. Instead of ditching the shorts she pulls in the accessories – tights, socks, and boots – to keep them wearing into fall.
The end effect of many of her outfits is an interesting mix between naughty and nice. Sweet elements like a romantic blouse or cozy girl-next-door socks are paired in the same look with sexy lace or edgy snakeskin. It keeps you guessing, and pulls you into the details.
My personal favorite accessory a girl can have – Abigail!
I love the coordination between her boots and the bag she was carrying – very well thought out.
How sweet are her shades?
This layered look with the Boucle Textured Jacket hits the nail on the head.
Her desk space is absolutely inspirational.
I don’t know about you, but this makes me want snakeskin loafers.
Style File: Intimates Designer
It’s easy to see why this week’s style file landed a job as Free People’s intimates designer. She won’t just look at a piece as something to be worn underneath your clothing, but she also has the creative mind that can look at it in different contexts, and style it in completely unexpected ways that work. Her everyday wear mixes great intimates pieces – think slips, lace, and bloomers – with more conservative pieces and funky accessories. Her style borders the line between graceful beauty and edgy tough girl. It’s that deep understanding of intimates, and amazing ability to style them in a variety of ways, that explains perfectly why this is her area of expertise.
Her mom gave her this gorgeous vintage night gown. I think it might be one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever seen.
I would have never thought to pair bloomers with tights and a sweater for day – brilliant idea! Try the Floral Bloomers and the Easy Days Off the Should Sweater to get the look.
Style File: Fashion Blogger & Creative Researcher
The fashion blogger and creative researcher here at Free People is a little pixie with amazing style. Using her sharp British eye she blends rich colors and details, and always knows how to style vintage pieces in a way that strays from dowdy. She’s one of those select few who can pull of a vintage floral-print jumpsuit and make it look modernly chic. She rocks the borrowed from the boy look with nostalgic touches of corduroy, elbow patches, and canvas – keeping her silhouette streamlined, but relaxed. A lot of her clothes she either makes herself or she’s picked up on a vintage store run. And then there are those pieces it seems that she is religiously attached to. You can almost bet she’ll have on her black lace-up walking boots and silver rings. They seem to go with everything she wears, always adapting to the spirit of each outfit.
Style File: Meadow Design Assistant
Style file this week is dedicated to the design assistant on our meadow team. She’s a fabulous dresser with extremely feminine taste. Dresses are her specialty, and her collection is out of this world. Delicate lace, dainty peter pan collars, and retro polka dots are just the details that showed up in her numbers this week. Everything she wears feels like something you’ve never seen before – it looks like a vintage piece with a great story behind it, or a uniquely handmade piece. It’s like she finds special pieces and gives them a home. Her collection of feminine ankle socks is another great aspect to her style. She’s often wearing a pair, and manages to pull off the look so well. No doubt, she has a great wardrobe, and her styling is on point, but her best accessory is the huge smile that lights up every outfit she wears and brings it to life.
I fell in love with delicate beauty of this lace on her vintage dress!
She had some awesome nail art going on.
