Combining caramel and mesquite together is an unexpected but tasty blend! Caramel does stand up well to smoky flavors because of the rich texture and intense flavor. These vegan crumb bars are a delicious treat.

"The outcome cannot matter" (258). The outcome, how the world perceives your art has nothing to do with you. The reward is in process; the gift is the creative journey. Preach, Ms. Gilbert!
Mary -Dec 20, 2015, 2:22PM
I really liked first few pages when she talked about Jack Gilbert, it reminded me of my English professor and how inspiring he was, how he encouraged (at least me) not only to improve our writing, but also be successful, creative and LEARN (because there is a difference between learning something and just listening & getting information). I think when a person, like Jack Gilbert, is passionate he or she wants to share it with someone and inspire others. Then next few sections of the first chapter weren't that interesting for me. The idea was good, but the way it was written... I just tried to finish the chapter to see what's coming next. Now I see some people felt the same way - so I'm excited to read next chapter, hopefully it will get more fascinating and inspiring. I also loved how she talked about being brave vs being fearless. I think it is important to know and remember that there is always fear within us and we cannot or even shouldn't "kill it off". We need to embrace it and learn how to control it. It is always scary to start something new .

First of all, so pretty pictures!! My parents always have a big Nordmann fir, and I think me and my boyfriend will have one as well, but not cutted down but still with roots in a planter. And I have a blog as well and were writing about the perfect christmas tree. But I where just talking about the Nodmann fir and a blue spruce and also about that you should get a bio one. Maybe you have a look at my page, too, would be so happy :) https://ndgbl.wordpress.com/ I'm always so inspired by this blog, just love it!! sending love, Pia, xxx
Rachel -Dec 11, 2015, 10:09AM
