Post image for Trying Reiki: What To Expect

The idea of life energy has always been so intriguing to me. I’ve always believed in the concept of “mind over matter” and that we as humans are capable of doing anything – we just have figure out how to tap into our own energy.

I recently met a Reiki practitioner and was extremely inspired by her positive words and calming presence. Read more »

I love Reiki. I have gotten into a ritual of putting Reiki energy into the food that I eat, so that I can bless it and combine my energy with the energy of the food that is bringing nourishment to my body. I feel like it really helps me to be more aware and balanced when I'm eating, instead of just shoveling food in my face. : )

What beautiful pictures! We went to the beach last year. This summer we are looking into getting a Cape Cod Rental for a few weeks. The kids wanted to go someplace different than the normal places we go and we thought this would be just the place. Thanks so much for sharing your great post. You made me more excited for summer!

Hmm is anyone else encountering problems with the images on this blog loading? I'm trying to determine if its a problem on my end or if it's the blog. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

My daughter is 16 and was diagnosed with celiac disease 5 years ago when she was 11. The only symptom of celiac she had was cuts on her face and hands. Her brother was diagnosed and therefore the entire family was tested and my daughter tested positive. A endoscopy was performed and confirmed she had celiac disease. She has been eating gluten free since diagnosed. The other weej she had potatoe pancakes thinking it was only made with potatoes but found out after she ate it that is was made with flour. We waited for her to get sick and nothing. Not even a stomach ache. A few days later she ate something else that had wheat and no problems, pains or issues. Could she have been misdiagnosed? Could she have grown out of being celiac disease? Should I let her eat wheat? I'm thinking of taking her to a different doctor than the one who diagnosed her but would hate to have another endoscopy done. Please let me know if anything like this has happened to anyone. Thank you

gah! i love these rings! rings are my favorite type of accessory to shop for, except it's such a pain! cause i have the thinnest fingers in the world, it's always impossible to find rings that fit! my size teeters between size 4 and size 5, depending what finger, and size 4 and 5 aren't common sizes at all! totally wish i could purchase some of these, but all my favorites are size 6 and 7! :(

Post image for Festival Hair: A Quick And Easy Style

After day one at a festival your hair becomes a little windswept and unruly, and if you’re camping there’s a slim chance of getting the opportunity to wash it. The best thing to do is to tie it up out of your way. We’ve thought of a cute idea to keep your hair back while still making it look festival savvy: the double braid.

Post image for Homemade Coconut Milk Shampoo

Today is the third consecutive day of beautiful weather here in Philly, so naturally it’s time to start thinking about summer. Whenever I do, the summer scents are always at the forefront of my mind: Read more »

You will have problems using a coconut milk shampoo with acv rinse in the case that your hair is still greasy, oily or stringy...because you have bleached and or color treated your hair. The reason why is because the natural fat from the coconut milk will adhere itself to damaged hair. That's why it will look stringy. In addition to washing your hair with the natural coconut milk shampoo and using an acv rinse is also use a mild baking soda goop (baking soda dissolved in hot water) and directly apply it to the color treated part of your hair. Then rinse and finish off with an acv rinse. It will get rid of the fat and make your hair fluffy and soft, like you want it to be.

is this shampoo gentle enough to use on color treated hair?

Post image for Office Style: Preview to Summer

This past week, Philadelphia weather has treated us right! Temperatures have been warming up a lot — yesterday it reached 85 degrees! Everyone seemed to be in such a good mood since the sun was shining and we could actually walk outside without even thinking about putting a coat on. Our girls donned light and airy pieces, which we will definitely be seeing more of as we continue into the summer months. I found some FP girls taking their dogs for a stroll outside and couldn’t help but getting them in on the office style action.
