Post image for How The Moon Impacts Your Mood

UPDATE: This post previously ran on October the 16th, but as we are continually in its cycle, we thought we would bring it back.

Whenever I feel a little unbalanced I usually blame it on the full moon, because I always find around this time I get emotional, touchy, and aggravated. Many people tell me it’s just a myth, but I’m pretty convinced that the moon’s pull has an impact on my body. Read more »

Late to post, but I agree with aleiramare. In my experience, whenever you feel tense, emotional or aggitated without any discernable reason (lack of sleep, alcohol, bad day etc) check the next date of the full moon. It's usually a couple days away or the day of. The full moon absolutely affects people, our bodies react and we fail to notice because we're so involved in our lives. Also, for fun I'll mention that my mother works at a courthouse and there is always a spike in offenders on a full moon.
aleiramare -Mar 15, 2013, 12:23AM
My mother works with mental patients and when the moon is full, she says that they do get more exited, more emotional; she always asks me by phone, is the moon full tonight? because today is been a hard day!! me: yes mom!!! she never fails!!

Hi, I seen your DIY wreath and was wondering if I could use it for a guide on how to draw simple yet beautiful things that people have made? I would like to include your original picture and use it as an example for a drawing guide. Their will be a link to your page resulting in more views for you as well.

Post image for Meet Our New Yoga Instructor, Stacia Nero

It’s no secret that we love yoga at Free People… it might be one of our favorite ways to work out, and simultaneously clear the mind. We love it so much we even launched our own yoga line earlier this year, FP Movement!  I caught up with the new yoga instructor here at URBN, Stacia Nero, to learn more about her and the type of yoga she practices. I love what she has to say about how yoga has changed her life. I can definitely relate personally to her issues with anxiety and how yoga has helped alleviate this problem. Read on for an interview with Stacia and stay tuned because she’ll be demonstrating some of her favorite yoga poses here on the blog and explaining what they do and why they’re so beneficial!  Read more »

Hi Julia, great post. I'm interested in the mental health aspect that Yoga covers, particularly its effects on the different brain waves tied to meditation. Do you think you could do a research-based post on the scientific proof behind Yoga's benefits? I love the flow in this piece, and the pictures look stunning. Let me know what you think, thanks!

Stacia Nero is the best yoga teacher in this city...

Having worked as a barrista, be sure before you pull your shot to have your steamed milk or what ever you are going to add ready....so very important....a shot goes bitter WITHIN 30 seconds of pulling it....by adding milk (ie cappuccino, latte, etc) it stops the bitterness process, and if like straight espresso, drink immediately.

Post image for 3 Perfect Gifts Under $100!

I think $98 for any of those items is MUCH too pricey unless you have a ton of money to spend...just go to a thrift store and get something very similar for $5-$10 bucks!
warmgreytenpercent -Dec 09, 2012, 3:55PM
I love the gifts, but it's kind of silly that they're "under $100," yet they're all still $98!
