Hi, I'm a bit confused. Isn't dutch braiding all "under?" In the directions, she makes it sound like she's alternating with over and under?? Can someone help?

Post image for The Fine Art of the Getaway Car

Think back to some of the earliest documentations of weddings. The image that immediately comes to my mind is a bride and groom side-by-side, being carried away into a blissful horizon by a vehicle that’s been lavishly decorated. Read more »

Cassie -May 18, 2015, 11:52AM
Wow, this article actually changed my view about getaway cars. Before I was all about simplicity and thought it was somewhat silly when people would put so much elaboration and effort into a single night. (*cough* Kardashians *cough*) Anyways, I realized that it means so much more than that. The getaway car is almost like a colorful rocket shooting the couple out into a new and bright future ahead. I love the ideas here--the vividness, neon craziness of the colors and how well they couple with each other!

And the story goes... In March 2013, my best friend Sheryl is getting married to Andrew - who's a German in the Maldives where they were working in a resort together. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT - wedding in the Maldives?! I was so stoked and jet-lagged because of the time difference it had with Singapore. During dinner later that day Andrew's friends and the people from Singapore hanged out.. and one of his friends, Gregor, caught my attention. We didn't interact much because they were speaking German most of the time. The next morning I couldn't wait to get into the ocean! It's so beautiful, and I walked to my friend's room to wake her up, AND GUESS WHAT! Gregor's room was next to her and he came out half naked with blue board shorts only! HOLY COW! TOO HOT! it wasn't until the fishing trip later that day when we spoke to each other. He was so fun to be with and though he looked tough on the outside, he's quite shy. I was completely charmed by him but I had to keep my cool. The next day was the wedding ceremony, it was unexplainably beautiful. We went to a local island by boat and it was only exclusive to us. My best friend married her soulmate during sunset, on the white sandy beach and the crystal clear ocean. The atmosphere was lovely. Gregor and I had a moment, where it seems like all the rest of the people disappeared. My heart fluttered and I had butterflies in my stomach. I was like DAMN... I hadn't had this kinda feeling before since my first boyfriend who passed away. We continued to spend time together and we even went diving together - which was so cool! Then it came the time to head back home. We exchanged contacts and continue to write each other. Feelings developed and I still wasn't hopeful because he lived 14, 000 km away. He came for a holiday to Singapore in June with his mother, it was really sweet and we got even closer and we decided to work this out. I quit my job and moved to Germany in October 2013, but due to visa issues I had to return to Singapore in Feb 2014. That was the most horrible feeling ever. We continued like this the past year, travelling to and fro, spending precious time and moments with each other. In December last year, he came over for Christmas holidays and he booked a staycation for us in an island of Singapore, we had a beautiful dinner, and then when we were strolling along the beach, he proposed. It was a really surreal moment for me. Getting married in Germany is very difficult there's a lot of paper work to be done, and we were frustrated at times during all this madness. I'm glad we stayed positive and supportive towards one and other, and I finally got my marriage visa for Germany! We're getting married on the 15th June and it's going to be a small and private one, because we didn't have much time to plan for a big one. We'll have a party next year in both Germany and in Singapore!! AND SO I LOVE FREE PEOPLE!! i hope international enteries are allowed. :) BOTH OF US LOVE DENIM AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THOSE RAD AMAZING JACKETS FOR THE WEDDING! <3
Celine -May 20, 2015, 11:37AM
I met my fiancé when I was 13 in junior high school. We ran in the same circle and I liked him and even flirted one time at a party (our arms touched!!) but he didn't know who I was then. Fast forward to 2008 when we were 24 at a New Years party of a mutual friend. He said "please with a cherry on top and bottom", when asking to take a picture with me and I thought it was the funniest and cutest thing I ever heard! I later found out the picture was a coy to get my email because I didn't have a phone at that time. We went on our first date the day after on New Year's Day and have been together since then. We have an amazing 3 year old son and getting married September 19th!!!

Moon Canyon is such a beautiful brand full of talented creatives. I have SO loved following their journey on Instagram and I was so excited to see them here! I love a ton of greenery (herbs, succulents, eucalyptus) for weddings. I'm tying the knot in September and that's definitely our plan! Hazel + Scout
Susan -May 18, 2015, 6:24PM
such gorgeous flowers......I love to see unique bouquets at weddings...something a bit rebellious, flowers that is not the typical "wedding flower" bouquet seen in all the standard wedding magazines...I especially love the wild flowers freshly picked from a spring meadow, flowers that are a bit unruly and untamed....something a bit more boho and free spirited than the "typical bouquet" is a breath of fresh air to me! . The Weaver Of Words.....give me 15 words and I'll tell you a tale
