Our trend this week “Rad in Plaid” is the perfect example of 90’s grunge made modern. Multiple layers create interesting silhouettes, while prints and textures clash with each other. Read more »
There’s no way this video won’t make you smile. This is one of the cutest puppies we’ve ever seen — and he’s right here in our home office!
Today’s DIY is a fun and easy project that requires little supplies and results in some seriously adorable decorations that you can use in your home, for a party, or in our case, to make our office space prettier! I’ve seen these string balls before and it was so much fun to finally make them – it’s a little addicting, too, once you start making them it’s hard to stop! We like to call them “thought bubbles” that hang delicately in our workspace :) Read more »
Some of the world’s best creations were born out of ideas deemed impossible. Nothing has reminded me more of this lately than the video above. Two design students, Anna and Terese, seem to have not only made the impossible possible, but they’ve also made a giant leap forward in urban cycling safety. Watch until the end, and find yourself more inspired than you’ve been in months. If that’s, you know, possible. (BuzzFeed)
Another highlight for me at Outside Lands 2012 was on Saturday when I had the opportunity to talk with drummer Eric Slick of Dr. Dog before their Saturday evening show at the Panhandle Stage. I have been a big fan of them since their first album and they have grown tremendously since then to become one of the best bands to come out of Philly, while still maintaining their own unique identity and sound. In the opening moments of the interview we figured out that we actually grew up in the same neighborhood in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia – at the same time! They are currently touring in support of their latest album Be The Void, but I found out we don’t have much longer to wait before we get more new music from Dr. Dog! Read on for our chat with Eric at Outside Lands. Read more »
This summer I’ve seen many beautiful weddings, ceremonies that ooze beauty and magic and anything else that floats around in that cloud of love. This winter will be my first time being a Maid of Honour… my sister is getting married in London and for months now I have been on the hunt for a bridesmaids dress. Read more »
Like a flower, you blossom when you’re happy and full of light. Blooming flower teas make me happy. Not only do I find them fascinating to look at when I immerse them in hot water, I also adore all the lovely things they do to your insides. Read more »

Last week we had the pleasure of visiting the (gorgeous) home of Philadelphia-based interior designer Phoebe Schuh of PS & Daughters. What I love most about Phoebe’s home is that it’s so much more than pretty things carefully arranged in pretty ways. Read more »
Two of my favorite moments at Outside Lands 2012 took place on Saturday, when The Kills and The Alabama Shakes played. View photos from both shows below! Read more »
Here at Free People we are big fans of the band Tennis, comprised of the adorable couple Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley. We caught up with them at Outside Lands this weekend to talk music, fashion and what’s coming up for the band! Read more »
Friday evening the sun was glowing its last light as I snuggled on the train to go to New York City. The notion of public transport makes my mind sink into deep mystery storytelling: I thought of the past, I thought of the present, and I thought of the near future.
