DIY: Twig Cage Mobile

Post image for DIY: Twig Cage Mobile

UPDATE: This previously ran on August the 30th but we thought we’d bring it back for a little DIY you can do this Sunday. Go out for a stroll and collect some small twigs and get DIY bus.

Do you ever want to fill the air with something delicate, just have something drifting back and forth freely in a little space in your home, desk space, or backyard? I find it relaxing watching something move gently in the air; it’s peaceful and helps create a peaceful mind.

Post image for Saturday DO: Go Technology Free (Just For A Day!)

Ironically, I did this by accident on Saturday. I was helping my friend move ALL DAY and my iPhone somehow went black and wouldn't come back on. I wasn't able to google how to fix the problem until late that night when I got home. It was kind of nice.

It is so liberating when you do give up some of the social media we tend to live for...I moved to upstate NY four years ago and I had to get rid of the cell phone...(no cell service) - it is amazing - I love not having it. I do love facebook, pinterest, reading blogs, etc... and of course my computer but I can also go days without touching my computer...I recommend this to anyone, to at least try it out for just one day! ***Hey Julia - I am spending my birthday weekend (Oct 24th) in Philly...any suggestions on where to eat, sleep and shop..?*** Happy Autumnal Equinox Everyone!!! He is adorable! I love that you adopted him. There are so many animals that need to be adopted. And what a little cutie! I love his nose! It looks like a little pink and red ombre. It's SO cute! I have two adopted cats and I know they can be a handful when they're kittens. One of mine still is a handful, but he's old and fat and sleeps most of the day. It's just night when he's up chasing the other cat. I just love cats! Ollie is the cutest thing ever!

Congrats on Oliver! He is so precious! The exact same thing happened to my friend who just adopted a sweet, energetic kitten as well. She figured out that if she just set aside some time to play with her kitten right before bed, that the kitten would calm down. Apparently her kitten just wanted someone to play with, so if she knew she would get that scheduled play time before bed, then she would be able to calm down too- and let her owner sleep. ;)

You might like lake Powell too! It's a higher elevation so hot hot hot in the summer and snows sometimes in winter but it's so incredibly beautiful to be surrounded by this gigantic blue green lake only stopped by these beautiful orange red brown rocks , cliffs and caverns. Plus it's an amazing vacation spot because there's no cell or Internet service :) I've gone there the last 3 summers and have had some wonderful experiences and taken some awesome pictures!

Indian ethnic gifts -Dec 29, 2012, 8:09AM
Wow... promptly I blurted when I saw your list of ideas for trinkets. I think adding some Indian ethnicity to your desk will only accentuate the look of it. And www.indianethnicgifts.com is one great site to browse through some of the exquisite peace of Indian artifacts. But yes going through yours was also delightful.

Post image for Guest Post: Watkins Glen, A Spellbinding Weekend Getaway

This guest post is from Johnie Gall of DirtbagDarling.com

Hear a mention of “New York” and your brain probably conjures up visions of gridlocked traffic or the elegant wool coats in the archives of The Sartorialist. And sure, the appeal of the urban side of New York State is pretty magical, but just a few hours from the city and short hike away is a truly spellbinding weekend trip. Read more »

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
