Post image for Fall Recipe: Maple Cinnamon Apple Chips

It’s apple season, everyone! Apple picking is such a fun fall activity, but what in the world are you going to make with all those apples you just picked? Apple pie, apple fritters, applesauce… what else? Apple chips! Read more »

Taylor -Nov 10, 2013, 6:57PM
just made some with pink lady apples, they are delicious! thanks for the recipe :)
Marie -Feb 06, 2013, 11:33AM
I tried to make these with my mom over the holidays and ours never crisped up. We cut the apples into 1/8 inch slices and kept them in the oven for three hours! We chose red delicious and my mom suggested that perhaps we should've chosen a different kind of apple. Regardless, they smelled delicious while they were in the oven!

Since starting a healthy eating plan almost 2 years ago (and losing over 100 lbs in the process), I am always looking for new recipes. Especially those dessert/snack type items. We like enjoy a treat without going overboard and not indulge in high sugar/processed foods. These are perfect and so easy to make. I rolled mine in toasted, unsweetened coconut and mixed in some chopped dark chocolate pieces. Soooo good. I'm thinking about a variation that has cacao powder and mixing in some dried cherries next time. Thank you so much for the great recipe!! :)

Post image for DIY Chalkboard Paint And Antique Frames!

UPDATE: This post originally ran on September 5th 2012 but there are so many uses for homemade chalkboard paint, we wanted to share it again!

I painted the glass from a frame with Krylon chalkboard paint, rubbed chalk on it, used an eraser to get it off but now the chalk won't write on it. It's dollar store chalk does that make a difference?
Heidi -Nov 26, 2012, 11:25AM
Super cute idea and frames. My teenage daughters would like to do this. Thanks for posting. Heidi Exede

Post image for Inspiring Words: Don’t Be Scared Of Your Imagination

I always get fueled around people that have imagination, where possibility is endless, where the sky’s the limit and dreams get spoken about. Dreaming and imagining are beautiful things. They make colors in the world and bring people to life.  “She’s a dreamer, completely out of touch with reality” is one of my favorite quotes from Sofia Coppola’s Virgin Suicides. Read more »

Post image for Saturday DO: Plan A Trip

I’ve been thinking so much about travelling lately. What excites me most is that travel can happen on a large or small scale. The photo above is from a trip I took to Paris. I was there for only 24 hours and I’ve wanted to go back ever since. It’s not always easy to take the big trips we dream of, but that doesn’t mean we can’t explore something new anyway. Think about the tiny town nearby you’ve always wanted to visit, or the landmark you’ve never seen. Or think big and book a flight to a place you’ve had in your mind forever. This Saturday, plan your next trip. Whether it’s happening in a week, a month, or even longer, you’ll have something exciting to look forward to. Where will you go?

Ladina -Oct 28, 2012, 6:25PM
