Post image for Park and Ride: Yosemite National Park

“I’ve only been to a handful of other places that could possibly equal it but, after this visit, Yosemite may be the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.”Read More

Yosemite has been on my "must see" list for so long now. I agree it's one of the most beautiful places, especially in the states. Seeing your photos makes me want to spend an entire week there.
Bonnie Chavez -Nov 20, 2015, 1:05PM
Hi there! You should mention if you plan on staying at Yosemite other than backpacking you need to make reservations a year in advance. That said anything from Memorial day to Labor day 1016 is filled. If you love backpacking please be aware of the bears! My backyard was Yosemite for many years until I moved to New Mexico. By the way for a deep pocket splurge go to the Ahwahnee Hotel for any meal, it's wonderful!

i drink this every morning and the Himalayan pink salt makes the coco so much deeper in taste, i use coconut palm but i can not find coconut milk powder
Julie -Nov 24, 2015, 2:26PM
I just wanted to comment that 90% of coconut milk powder isn't vegan as they use a dairy component to keep it from clumping, and it isn't always listed on the ingredients. There are a couple vegan brands out there though! Thank you, this looks incredible!!!

Post image for Food Trend: The Rise of the Slow Food Movement

Whether one chooses to dine in or out, it doesn’t take a tortoise to be a slow foodie.Read More

Calley -Nov 15, 2015, 4:05PM
In Chinese Medicine, it is always recommended to cook your food for longer periods of time, because this allows the food to retain more warmth and heat, and makes the food more digestible. In the winter time, this is how we keep our bodies warm; from the inside. This time of year I love slow roasting veggies such as sweet potatoes, butternut squash, zucchini, and bell peppers. I feel such a difference in my internal temperature from making the switch to cooking my food longer. I used to always feel so freezing. Great post. : )
Rae -Nov 15, 2015, 5:03AM
I am totally in love with the idea of slow food and think it allows us to enjoy food we are eating more as well as the company we are with while having our meals. Rae of Love from Berlin

Post image for Why You Need A Nighttime Routine For Better Sleep

You likely have a morning routine, but it’s all about getting that nighttime routine locked down for great sleep. End your day right with these healthy bedtime habits…from our friends at The Chalkboard Mag.Read More

Liz -Nov 16, 2015, 12:57PM
I think shutting out work is the biggest thing. When I clock out (of course, I am hourly), I do not take any phone calls or emails... not from clients, not from my boss, not from a coworker. If I don't get that mental reset time I'll sleep pitifully and be grumpy all the time. :( I do a nightly relaxing skin care routine too because there is something so relaxing about cleansing and exfoliating right before bed.
Skittles -Nov 15, 2015, 2:34PM
While all of those mind-racing issues plague me on a fairly regular basis, I've recently been using an app that lets me mix and match sound files to make a combination that actually helps lull me to sleep, it also lets me set a time limit for when it shuts itself off. It's called Relax Melodies, but there are numerous meditation/relaxation sound apps out there.
