If you have really short hair, like a pixie, you still accessorize with hair clips and the wide headbands...

Post image for Open Call: Vote For The Finalists!

Had a blast shooting for this contest and even made a friend! I was kinda disappointed not to be a finalist. As a bigger girl who loves the brand I was hoping that FP would be a little more open-minded to having a curvy girl represent their brand just as well as a skinny girl.
Sarah Cassidy -Apr 10, 2014, 3:50PM
Jill Mason (stylist) has been our personal stylist here at Cassidy since I opened four years ago!! Always making us beauties abound, I have nothing but amazing things to say about this woman. But most of all that her creativity and poise never cease to amaze me. Voting for this designer is a no brainer.

Another important point is that you can’t generalize all of India. It is not all the same. Customs, dress, and behavior in Mumbai vs a rural part of India are going to be very different. And just because something may seem less okay in one part of India, does not mean it won’t be very accepted in another. Everything depends on which part of India you are traveling to. It’s just such a huge and diverse country.
Komal -Apr 08, 2014, 1:18PM
I am Indian, (born in America) but I go to India often and have much experience with India, so I know that you definitely CAN wear these kinds of clothes there, especially if they are a little less bare than the ones shown in the pictures, but even those are okay. I think people are misinformed or confused. Shoulders / legs do NOT have to be covered. It does depend more on where in India (some places are more conservative than others) but still, I have worn similar clothing and have seen others do the same with no problem. If you are personally not comfortable with the idea of wearing these clothes in India, that is completely understandable, but there are no rules for dress. You just need to know where it is you are going. Places like New Delhi, for example are very "modern." Western clothing is popular and many people wear them (Bollywood celebrities do too, setting trends.) And in other parts, tourists are still allowed to wear clothes that don't cover shoulders / legs. And I don't think "unwanted attention" is a real excuse, but again you should do what you feel comfortable with and take more caution if necessary / listen to your gut. :)

Post image for 4 Ways To Make Your Kitchen Greener

I absolutely love this post -- these are some great ideas! Getting rid of paper is going to make such a huge difference for me; I go through so many paper towels washing up around the kitchen and I don't know why I didn't think to make the switch ages ago! Another tip I use: save any glassware (such as milk bottles) and use them to store filtered water from the tap instead of buying bottles, or store homemade juices. Also, if you make coffee using a French Press instead of a drip machine will cut out wasting those filters that need to be tossed every day; there's also a steel filter you can get for your Chemex that's reusable =) www.threadandbones.com

Oh wow, looks and sounds sooo amazing! I love anything that incorporates mayer lemons! This is definitely going on my grocery list for the week. I've been obsessed with grapefruit this past month, and I'm so excited for fava beans! My mother has them in her garden and I discovered last year how easy they are to put in eeeeeverything -- once you get past the lengthy shelling portion that is =) www.threadandbones.com

Where did the bag in the last look come from? What is the brand? It is so beautiful, I've been cross country road tripping this past week looking for something like that but I haven't been able to find it. It would be amazing to know the brand of this bag!!! -much love, Míra <3
