I stopped using shampoos and conditioners altogether. I read on average we are putting 500 chemicals on our head a day. After reading that I quit cold turkey, and now I stick w dr bronners soaps for cleaning, The oils are diluted in the making process which can dry your scalp so to condition I use Bragg's organic apple cider vinegar (you can find this are your local grocery, usually in the organic section if they have one; whole foods and vitamin cottage will have it). Leaves my hair amazingly soft and ill use different essential oils to help mask the smell of the vinegar. Baking soda is a great cleaning agent as well. All of the options in this blog entry have worked for me. Vinegar worked the best for my fine, thin hair.

Post image for Road Map Nails Inspired By Roshambo: Paper-Scissors

The third Roshambo video brings us back to where it all began: Paris. The final chapter in the series was filmed throughout the streets of Paris, so this inspired me to try a transfer technique on my nails using a map of the magical city. For something that looks complicated, it’s actually really simple to achieve. You can do this with any map, and it’s fun to pick out certain places that you may have traveled to or special spots that you want to put on your nails. Read more »

tip: Make sure to test on a small part of your face or on your arm. I did this mask but added mashed bananas and olive oil, and i didn't think i was allergic to any of these things and i put it all over my face. A couple minutes later my whole face was stinging and red and i was having a reaction. So, definitely test it first!

Okay, people with real dreads, calm down. No these don't look like real dreads, they are meant to be a TEMPORARY look. No one is saying these are real, no they don't look as good as real dreads, but there's no need to be so condescending to people not ready to try the real thing. Gracious sakes...
Danelzka -Jul 23, 2014, 11:43PM
I have baby fine silky hair and must use wax to create and maintain my dreads. Common sense. Apply as little as possible. and when shampooing them, rinse in hot water and use dread soap. Never add wax to wet or damp hair.

Post image for Short Hair Styling Tips From FP Girls

I have long hair but in the summertime I’m always tempted to chop it off…in this heat, shorter locks seem so much lighter and cooler.  The last time I cut my hair short was years ago and I never knew how to style it, so I’ve kept it long ever since.  But I always envy those girls who pull it off so well — for example, Anja Rubik’s perfectly tousled locks in our July book. It seemed like the perfect time to get some styling tips from our home office girls who rock the shorter hair — those of you with short hair, share your tips in the comments! Read more »

Post image for How To Get A Spa Pedicure At Home

It’s the season of adventure and we’re all outside, using our feet as much as possible. I can't remember when I didn't admire beautiful nails, it's been 'in me' from a very young age. However, it wasn't until about five years ago, when my sister managed to encourage me to try it (I think a bribe was involved) that I jumped in 'with both feet' and joined the many other artistic, colorful and fun nail polish fanatics. BTW you blog post inspired me so much! Xo :-)
