It seems to me that when people criticize using Candice as a model, they are overlooking the truth that the FP girl is no one girl- she can be represented by many types of women. And, the history of FP marketing does show the use of models with a similar look and style as Candice. I'm not sure what the point of criticizing is- she wore the clothes beautifully and that was definitely the point!

I must say that I am so relieved to hear others have felt the same about candace. While I have nothing against her, I just do not think she so at all a free people model. I am actually quite disappointed and have found myself going straight past the pictures that she is in. I don't think she represents what Free People is all about and hope that she does not appear here again. Now put her in a VS catalogue and she is perfect!

Post image for Free People Models Off Duty

I’m a denim girl. No matter how many skirts or dresses I put on, I always feel most comfortable in a good pair of jeans. All of the models seemed to have a denim element in their outfit this week. Each of them had completely different looks, but all seemed to keep their style cool and casual. Read more »

I love Free People and I don't want to be a buzzkill, but am I the only one bothered by the fact that only 4 of the items in these American-themed outfits were actually made in the USA?

I absolutely LOVED this post!! It was nice to hear someone else talk about "I woke up like this" inspo, because honestly I think that can be harder to pull off than a formal, sophisticated look sometimes. I adore what every single one of these models wore-- as you said, they absolutely nailed the look.

Post image for Cuffs, Studs & Hoops: A Piercing Guide

I love that jewelry can be a last minute add on to complete an outfit, or something that you build an outfit around. Our fingers, necks, and wrists are the most familiar with these adornments, but there is another way that allows the rest of our body to get introduced… Read more »

Body modification is very important to me. I have 15 piercings & stretched lobes, so I would love to see Free People selling organic body jewelry like stone plugs or wooden hoops. I would also love to see more temporary tattoos that encourage the use of body art as a form of self expression. Also, as a person with metal sensitivity, I would greatly appreciate seeing what kind of metal the jewelry is made of. That way, customers can be 100% sure there is no nickel in the jewelry. I love the way body modification is represented here. Good job, FP!
Beka -Jun 20, 2014, 12:33PM
Bonnie, if you have metal sensitivity, it is because the jewelry contains nickel or other impurities. Make sure you ask if jewelry contains nickel before you buy it to avoid irritation. Good quality gold that does not contain nickel is very expensive, so I would recommend purchasing titanium jewelry from a reputable source like Anatometal or Industrial Strength. I have metal sensitivity & I order all of my metal jewelry from these two sources. Titanium is not a form of steel, it is an element, which is why, unlike steel, it can be anodized in any color except for red or black. You could order titanium jewelry that looks just like gold. Another element metal that is safe to wear is niobium, which can be anodized with a broader range of color, including black.
